Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Seymour and how we work with food operators.
We are not a caterer.
We partner with caterers and other food operators, giving them an integrated tech platform that lets their clients, consumers, and chefs access interactive, recipe-specific Food Intelligence with the scan of a code or the click of a link.
In this way we make consumer decisions easier, ensure that each recipe’s sustainability, procurement, and nutrition story is transparent, drive positive behaviour change, and empower chefs with contextualised, recipe-specific sustainability and nutrition knowledge.
We work with world-class chefs, sustainability experts, and dietitians – and collaborate deeply with our partner-caterers and their teams – to ensure that our core processes, principles, content, and general IP are robust, compliant, aligned, and practical in real kitchens.
Food Intelligence turns recipe data and information into an actionable, meaningful, interactive, and shareable account of that recipe and its impact on health and sustainability.
Food Intelligence doesn’t just tell a chef or consumer the ingredients of a dish or how many calories are in it, it tells them how that dish supports specific focus areas, lifestyle choices, where the ingredients came from, why the supplier was chosen, and what its environmental impact of that dish looks like. It turns recipe data and information into a moment of genuine understanding, and critically, it does this in a way that is scientifically grounded, brand-consistent, and scalable across thousands of recipes.
Our scalable Food Intelligence solution is built on a compliant, core platform, and connects chefs, producers, clients, and consumers to recipe-specific, trustworthy intelligence that not only surfaces caterers’ work in meaningful ways, but also drives lasting culture change around food. All while providing powerful analytics with negligible operational overhead.
Yes.
Our Food Intelligence solution is exceptionally scalable without ever diluting or jeopardising the recipe-specificity or other contextualised elements of the offering. We also have experience in collaborating with very large organisations to ensure that we align with their focus areas, positioning, and branding. While our customers include a number of smaller and mid-level operators, we are privileged to also count the second biggest caterer in the United Kingdom as one of our most engaged customers.
In terms of compliance, we are on the certification path for ISO27001, and have an exceptional record in terms of reliability and security.
Our founder has a track record of developing scalable, tech solutions for large organisations in huge industries and highly developed markets with very stringent regulatory frameworks. For example, as Head of tech at Let's Sell Lobster he oversaw an enterprise-wide roll-out to Marriott's 700 000 employes, and he co-founded Caro Health, a mobile-first digital health platform that empowers patients throughout their treatment journey while enabling seamless communication between providers and patients. Caro Health services nearly 40 hospitals and clinics in The Netherlands.
Caterers do incredible work on health, sustainability, and innovation every day – but most of that effort stays invisible. Recipes are refined behind the scenes, training happens in busy kitchens, and sustainability choices are made without fanfare.
When it comes time to bid for new contracts or renew existing ones, there's no compelling data to show clients what's actually being delivered. Seymour turns that invisible work into measurable impact with engagement analytics, health dashboards, and sustainability reports that win bids and strengthen client relationships.
Seymour is designed to fit around your existing recipes, systems, and ways of working – starting with a simple rollout in one kitchen or site, then scaling as your teams get comfortable. Our team works with you to keep the setup light, support your chefs, and ensure your clients start seeing value quickly.
No.
We do have a native app that allows your guests to personalise their nutrition, pre-order, manage payment, track progress, get wellness coaching, and more – and rolling this out can unlock powerful data and insights for caterers.
But the foundational Seymour experience does not require an app. Consumers can access rich, health- and sustainability-focused dish overviews and stories through simple links and QR codes, so the right choices feel easy and exciting from day one.
Absolutely.
Our tech integrates seamlessly with both Nutritics and Apicbase, pulling your recipes into the culinary portal and chef's tool, allowing your chefs to refine them, understand their nutrition and health overviews, while learning and sharing. It also allows you and your team to present the full nutritional and health overviews of those recipes (plus any additional content – like supplier stories or expert insights) to your guests elegantly and effectively in multiple use cases and environments, from printed cards to QR codes to embedded links.
If you don't use a KMS to manage your recipes, we are also able to accommodate other methods of recipe upload, including Excel spreadsheets.
Healthier and more sustainable eating is now a core expectation from employees and clients – not a “nice to have”. Seymour helps you use the food you already serve to support wellbeing, reduce risk, and tell your sustainability and health stories in meaningful, scalable, and contextualised ways that strengthen contracts and loyalty.
